How many times have you heard this Dynamic Duo telling the media how they will fight to prevent the industrialisation of our valuable farmland? In recent months, we have heard them attack National Grid and the government for wanting to put pylons and solar farms on productive farmland. They complain about being powerless to stop these developments.
NWS has shifted, and drastically enlarged its area of focus so that they now want to take 940 acres of productive farmland. This time, they are not powerless. This time, they have the power to stop it. If LCC withdraws from the Community Partnership the whole project ends now.
After all the rhetoric they have spouted about protecting farmland, you would expect them to end it. Instead, they tell us that "The people must decide." We would love to decide. But the very people who tell us it is our decision to make are refusing to give us a vote on the subject.
