Last December Lincolnshire County Council published a hosting agreement for which sought Government agreement. In the document, they published details of the additional infrastructure investment they would be seeking.. They detailed several road improvements including the A158 and the A11004. However, one thing that many people are expecting was missing from that document. There was absolutely no mention of funding for Railway Stations.
NWS has already said they would have to pay for the construction of a rail link. Network Rail has said that it would not cost much more to build the line to passenger standards. However, A rail link is useless to passengers without Stations. NWS has not offered to build Stations and the Council hasn't included stations in their Hosting Agreement. It begs the question, how are they going to provide the much hoped-for passenger service?
