United against unnecessary industrialisation on Lincolnshire's coastline

In 2025, GOTEC successfully campaigned against a nuclear waste Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) resulting in formal withdrawal by Lincolnshire County Council leading to a substantial victory for GOTEC, the east Coast and residents from the perils of a Nuclear Waste Storage facility.
This victory represents a "victory for community, transparency and common sense...communities can prevail when they come together" - GOTEC spokesperson.
Harbour Energy and BP plan to build a Carbon Capture facility at it's Immingham refinery. The captured Carbon Dioxide will then be transported, under enormous pressure, through a pipeline to Theddlethorpe.
It will then be taken via the LOGGS pipeline to an injection platform in The North Sea.
CCS has proved to be controversial, requiring as much energy it captures, and dangerous with dubious safety records in US implemented operations.
A 2024 proposal by National Grid to construct 420 pylons and five substations.
Further infastructure projects are reliant on this infastructure to transfer to the grid.
This is a substantial threat to farmland, communities and the unqiue and beautiful lanscapes across Lincolnshire. All packaged under the guise of "upgrading" energy infastructure that has been conveniently neglected until now.
This early stage project seeks to construct combined cycle gas turbines (CCGT) and battery storage to generate electricity from either natural gas supply or hydrogen.
This project seeks to use underground cables to link thermal facilities and electrolysis to battery storage and generation facilities across East Lindsey.
This threat represents another attempt to industrialise our landscape and generate energy that will not benefit the community.
